About us
Nordic Mines is a Nordic mining and exploration company aiming to become one of the leading gold producers in Europe and at the same time to be a role model in environmentally friendly mining. Late summer 2011gold production started in the company’s first mine, the Laiva mine outside Raahe in Finland. The deposit is one of the biggest in the Nordic region with an ore reserve of 16.7 million tons and a gold content of 1.60 grams per tonne. At the moment, exploration work is performed near the Laiva mine as well as in two other areas in Finland and two in Sweden. The head office is in Uppsala, Sweden.
Business concept and strategies
Nordic Mines’ business concept is to create high growth through exploring and exploiting the company’s existing and future resources of gold and other minerals, and based on these, conduct proprietary mining operations.

Nordic Mines’ board of directors consists of five (5) members assigned with the task of managing the company on behalf of the owners. These members have all been elected at the annual general meeting (AGM).The Stockholm stock exchange makes certain demands on the composition of the board.

History
Nordic Mines AB (publ) was founded in May 2005. The business concept was to focus on exploration and extraction of gold in Sweden and Finland; countries with a solid mining culture and low political risk.
